I have always always been attracted to oil paintings. I've finally had some time to do some more of it myself and have decided to share the work in progress. Oil painting is so different from watercolour in the way that it demands much more of my attention. Watercolour is a collaborative medium; it will work with you and has a mind of it's own. It creates it's own shapes and lines that you could never have thought of. Oils are... dependant. When I paint with oils, I tend to find that I am focusing much more on creation from my own mind. In a way, my oil paintings are probably a more accurate illustration of what's going on in my little brain.
